Shipping Container Murals
Something different this weekend from the cartoonist behind the Push Button Heads.
The Project
My partner has been asking me for a while now to start planning for another mural on our shipping container cabin. If you remember, I’ve already completed one mural in my pictogram style called “The Lawn Mower.”

This time we’ll be repainting the back of the shipping container we’ve nicknamed “Kline” after the signature trademark of the Japanese freight company that previously owned our can. We’ve been calling our weekend retreat “Kline” for years now and so we’re confident the nickname will survive even if we paint over the word-mark at this point.
I’ve sketched and mocked up a few options, and I’d love for my subscribers to weigh in and vote for their favourite.
Option 1: “The Reader”
I like the exaggerated limbs and how I’ve balanced the composition within the wide frame of the container.
Option 2: “Trip and Fall”
You might recognized this one from an animation I posted last year on my Instagram. This would be complicated to paint as a mural, but maybe worth the effort.
Option 3: “Field Day”
The subject matter of this mural would harmonize with the remote and rural location of our cabin, and the pictogram style would complement the existing “Lawn Mower” mural on the other side of the cabin.
