My nerdy “Push Button Head” characters live in a near-futuristic society that may or may not be on your planet (you decide!). You'll catch them talking or acting at cross-purposes, and being too curious for their own good. I post a new comic each weekend.

Title panel of this multi-frame comic shows a vintage cassette tape with a title scribbled on the label. It reads, "Misheard Song Lyrics."
Panel 1 of 5 of a comic showing a tiny human figure hanging out of the breast pocket of another character in full frame. The caption reads, "Pocket Man. Elton John 1972."
Panel 2 of 5 of a comic showing bottles of water in the foreground, floating under a bridge. A character standing on the bridge is looking down, observing them curiously. The caption reads, "Bridge Over Bottled Water. Simon and Garfunkel 1974."
Panel 3 of 5 of a web comic showing a character resting on a bench with his arms and legs stretched out widely. A pair of characters stand behind a fence in the distant background. They are spying on the main character taking a break. The caption reads, "Every Rest You Take. The Police 1983."
Panel 4 of 5 of a web comic showing a character in a ball cap with the word, "Bob," written across the front. He's holding a novelty mug that reads, "Resident Know-it-All." The caption reads, "Bob Only Knows. The Beach Boys. 1966."
Panel 5 of 5 of a web comic showing four characters wandering aimlessly with paper coffee cups in their hands. They all share the same thought bubble above their heads. It reads, "Wish I had a coffee buddy." The caption reads, "All the Lonely Starbucks Lovers."

This Comic is Kind of Autobiographical

If you know me well in real life, you may have noticed that I don’t pay much attention to the lyrics of songs (or song titles, or the names of the albums, or the names of the artists). But I love a good tune and a hopping beat. What people might be singing is usually gibberish to my ears, and so it’s hard to care about what’s being said in-between the notes and signals. I also have to really want to care before I can listen well. With music there are so many other sounds to appreciate; the lyrics are where I draw the line most of the time. This is where I stop caring. I’d rather just enjoy what I’m hearing.

So it’s no surprise that I get things hilariously wrong sometimes. Rumour has it that most people mishear Taylor Swift’s song “Blank Space” (last panel in my comic), so I guess I’m not completely alone in the mishearing department.
